How To Interact With The Key People At Venues
It's time to pay attention to every detail. The more you show people that you are serious about your music the better. But, I'm not going to tell you how to act. I'm going to let you know what worked for the band I managed...The insider view of how to get shows booked, by making sure you know how to interact correctly with each KEY person you encounter.

Make sure you have a demo of at least one song on a CD!

First, make a list of venues and include the name of the place and telephone number. Then call each venue and ask for the "show booker" - if they are not avilable ask for voicemail. If no voicemail is available ask the person on the line when the "best time to reach them" will be. Make sure to jot down the best times, and callback each one as necessary.

Go ahead and call every venue on your list, and attempt to make appointments with the "show booker" at each one. Ask them when they want to meet at the venue, and which day is best for them.

When you walk into your local venues...there will always be several things they all have in common with one another. Try to make sure you pay close attention to the similarities of each venue, but you also want to make note of the differences as you visit each one.
